The Ashford Collection is built on a solid poplar wood core with deep cherry veneer. This is a distinction that matters enormously. Particle board or MDF is held together with compressed sawdust and adhesive - it swells with moisture, sags under weight, and crumbles at joints over time. Solid poplar is a real hardwood with natural grain, dimensional stability, and the structural strength to support French and English dovetail joinery. The cherry veneer on top is real wood - sliced from actual cherry logs - not a photograph or a print on paper. This is the same construction method used by American fine furniture makers for over a century. What you see in our photographs is what you receive.

It is genuine shaped marble. Not cultured marble, not laminated stone-look material, not resin composite. Real quarried marble, shaped specifically to fit each case piece. This is one of the details that distinguishes the Ashford Collection - real marble is heavy, cool to the touch, and has natural veining variation that makes every slab unique. No two marble tops in this collection look exactly alike. When our delivery team places the dresser in your bedroom, you will feel the weight and the coolness of real stone immediately.

Cherry veneer means the outer surface of the furniture is a real thin layer of cherry wood sliced from actual cherry logs. It is not a stain, not a paint, not a photograph. The rich warm reddish-brown color you see is the natural color of American cherry wood, deepened with a hand-applied finish. Cherry is prized in fine American furniture precisely because its color deepens and enriches over years with light exposure - the longer you live with it, the more beautiful it becomes.

We don't ship from overseas. The Ashford Collection is American-made, stored in our domestic warehouse, and delivered by our own dedicated white glove team - not a third-party freight carrier who treats your furniture the way airlines treat luggage. Other luxury brands have long wait times because they manufacture overseas, rely on international shipping containers, and use commercial freight networks. Our entire supply chain is domestic and purpose-built for speed. 1–2 days is our consistent standard. It is not a promotion.
